Taseer blames Punjab govt

Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that the Punjab Government has been failed to protect AML President Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and termed murder attack on him as failure of the Punjab Government.

Talking to media, he said that the incident of attack on Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has exposed the position of law and order situation in Punjab, adding that if a senior politician was not safe in Punjab, how the Punjab Government can protect common citizens of Punjab.

He also termed attack on AML President Sheikh Rashid Ahmed as deliberate conspiracy, saying, attack on Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was regrettable during his electoral campaign.

Responding to a query, he said that AML president has been informing of regarding possible threats to his life, but Punjab Government didn’t take it seriously and failed to provide protection to a senior politician of the country, that resulted in today’s attack .
