PPP to support move against Musharraf
Politics Saturday, August 15th, 2009PPP Secretary Information Ms Fouzia Wahab Thursday said her party did not believe in sticking to the past and rather its policies were forward looking.
When asked whether or not the PPP would move a resolution in the parliament to revoke Article 6 of the Constitution against former President Pervez Musharraf, Ms Fouzia Wahab said that her party believed in moving ahead and not in sticking with the past.
“However, we would support any resolution tabled by any party wishing to move against the former president,” she added. Ms Wahab said the PPP leadership had taken prudent steps for the welfare of the people of Pakistan.
“You see, the PPP-led government took a bold initiative against militancy and now Swat and Malakand division have been purged of the militants. Now we have substantially controlled terrorism across the country,” she added.
She said the government was making vigorous efforts to resolve all issues confronted by the common man and soon it would overcome all those issues. “The main focus of the government is power shortage and we would soon overcome this issue as well,” she added.
