Plane escapes accident at Islamabad airport

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) traffic controller’s timely instructions saved several lives at Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Wednesday, according to a PAF statement.

The statement said that an Etihad Airlines plane was about to take off when a special police vehicle drove on to the runway and started heading towards the aircraft.

The air traffic controller immediately warned the pilot, who had to apply emergency brakes to avert a collision.
