People affected by flood are in dire need of life-saving medicines: Altaf

MQM leader Altaf Hussain has made a heartfelt appeal to all the pharmaceutical companies in Pakistan to donate life-saving medicines to Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation in order to protect hundreds of thousands of people affected by floods from epidemic diseases.

In a statement, Hussain has said that the length and breadth of the country is in the grip of a cataclysmic flood resulting in deaths of hundreds of people. Entire populations, standing crops and livestock have been washed out by flood water and millions of families are living under open sky without basic necessities such as food and water.

Mr. Hussain has said that corpses of humans and dead animals in the stagnant flood water are causing epidemic diseases resulting in deaths of a number of people. He has said that the people affected by the flood are in dire need of life-saving medicines in order to safeguard against the spread of epidemic diseases.

Mr. Hussain has appealed to the owners of pharmaceutical companies to come forward and donate the life-saving and other necessary drugs to Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation for the flood victims. Mr. Hussain has said that the calamity brought by flood is a testing time for whole of the nation and it was need of the hour for the prosperous people, particularly the owners of pharmaceutical companies to help their brethren in every possible way.
