Pakistani Kashmiris protest in London on Commonwealth Day

Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre London organised a rally at the
British capital iconic landmark of Trafalgar Square to highlight the
appalling human rights abuses occurring in the occupied valley and
Kashmiris right to self-determination.

Arranged on Monday evening on the occasion of the Commonwealth Day, the
participants braved cold, wet and blustery conditions to distribute
leaflets among the members of the public. Members of the Kashmir
Diaspora include Raja Mohammad Ayub, Councillor Ishaq Khan, Mohammad
Atlas, Shoaib Nazish, Ershad Malik, Professor Shahid Iqbal and Mussarat
Khan handed out the leaflets.

The banners, leaflets and the
memorandum requested the British Government to address the Kashmir
dispute, allow Kashmiris the right to self-determination and to help
end the appalling human rights abuses being carried out in the occupied
territory.

A letter was also sent to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
11, who is also the Head of the Commonwealth, bringing to her attention
the plight of Kashmir and its peoples and the urgency to resolve the
60-year-old dispute between India and Pakistan.
