Pakistan would never have COAS like Kiyani

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has praised the professional leadership of Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaque Pervez Kiyani and said Pakistan would never have COAS like Kiyani in future.

In a private TV channel program here on Friday, he said Kiyani was providing better services to the country and cooperating with the democratic government in good environment.

“We want to bring real facts of Benazir assassination and do not want to waste any proofs. We also do not want to bury the case like that of Liaquat Ali Khan case and there is no military operation in Balochistan and termed reports about it propaganda”, he added.

According to him, we do not want to find out elements in Benazir assassination who did the work but also those who provided funds and those behind it and want all these facts to light.

Malik said UN team is trying to find out facts and our FIA and other teams are carrying out criminal investigation and case has some proofs at world level, which have been brought in the notice of UNO, adding, we do not want to waste any proof in this case and do not want to bury it like that of Liaquat Ali Khan case. “It is very complicated case and want to bring all criminals to book and can not give time for it”, he remarked.

To a question, the minister said Pakistan would never have Chief of the Army Staff like General Ashfaque Pervez Kiyani in future, as the way he took forward the democracy and cooperating and serving the country and such environment would not be available in future.

Malik rejected the reports of sacking of COAS and not allowing him entry to GHQ, saying, army welcomed him with full protocol and he has group photo with officers there.

Referring to Baloch issue, he said the issue has been for the last 60 years and we took the leadership into confidence soon after we came into power and fulfilled their valid demands and there is no military operation in Balochistan but only propaganda.
