Pakistan Sports Board: approves seven nations joint boxing training camp
Sports Thursday, August 12th, 2010Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has granted permission to Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) for holding six international boxing team’s joint training session to prepare for Commonwealth Games.
President, PBF Doda Khan Bhutto, Vice President Iqbal Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Akram Khan on Wednesday had meeting with Director General,PSB, Syed Amir hamza Gilani at PSB National Coaching Centre in Karachi.
“ We have got approval from our parent body for joint training session but PSB has cut number of participating teams ten to six now we will invite to six teams for this purpose”, said PBF President, Doda Khan.
He said they have received confirmation from Malaysia, Central Republic of Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Sri lanka, Mauritius, Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda and Cameroon for attending the camp. “We will be selecting six countries in consultation with PSB “, he said.
Director General PSB appreciated efforts being made by PBF for the uplift of boxing in the country.
He said due to financial constraints and ongoing training camps in Islamabad it is not possible to host seven countries and we can accommodate only six foreign teams.
PBF Chief expressed his gratitude to PSB for extending support for holding the camp from August 25 in Islamabad.
