Country’s gem stones particularly aquamarine, topaz and amethyst are very popular in the UK and with adaptation of designs to the taste of Western market, the popularity of Pakistani hand crafted Jewellery has increased manifolds and this is precisely the reason that many orders have been received in first two days, said  a jeweller from Pakistan.

Silk and woollen carpets and rugs designed  with natural dyes extracted from plants and fruits are yet  another  big  attraction for the Western market. Some antique  carpets  are also on  display which are of special interest to collectors of arts and antiques.

Durre Shehwar Nisar who has brought a wide range of fashion apparels and accessories for the second  time,  said  that  like previous year lot of  interest  is being  expressed this year as well from the buyers and many new  orders  were expected for garments, shawls, bags and  jewellery.

Every year Trade and Commerce Wing of Pakistan High Commission in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan organizes  participation of  Pakistani business in the  fair and organizes display of Pakistani products.

However, this year many of the expected participants were unable to obtain visas and hence the Pakistani representation was limited to four stalls.
