Pakistan Football to have foreign Football coach

Pakistan football team will soon have a foreign coach, probably from Europe, it was stated Friday by Secretary General of Pakistan Football Federation, Col. ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi.

He said that PFF was in touch with Football Federation (FIFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to hire a foreign coach to further improve the country’s fortunes in the international arena.

He said Pakistan had drawn with Asian Champions in an away match in Syria recently, thus possibly denying the Iraqis a place in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

This speaks a lot, he said, about the improvement in the results of Pakistan football team in international encounters. “This is a big improvement from our past performances”.

He said a delegation of FIFA will meet Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Atiq on Sunday to discuss the establishment of “FIFA Goal Project” in AJK, on the pattern of the one already set up in Lahore.

He said that FIFA and AFC were helping PFF in raising the standards of the game in the country. PFF, he said, had a budget of over 60 million, out of which Rs. 15 million is provided by FIFA.
