Pakistan cricket team has won a  20, 20 world  cup. No  doubt it is  a good  news and  has been a  source  of happiness for  many  Pakistani  particularly the  fans of cricket .  However they way this  victory is being  publicized it seems  too  preposterous .particularly  in the  present situation when   millions  people of swat  have  been displaced  and are grabbling with  diverse problems.

 

This  celebration  seems  to be  more  ridiculous  as on the one  hand Pakistan  official are  requesting  world  community  to  help  them in overcoming the crisis  while  on the other Pakistan  government is celebrating  the  victory  in a  cricket  match  on such  scale  and  level  that  even  both prime  minister and  president arranged  welcoming functions  in the  honor of cricketers  and  prized  them with  huge  amounts   In such situation would  the world  community not  think that if Pakistan was  really in crisis  and trouble  due  to terrorism  and  the displacement of IDPs then  how  it could afford  the  time  ; mood  as well as .expenditures   for the  celebration of  winning a  cup  and that too in just  a 20; 20 world  cup,  ?
Wining a Cricket  match is  not a great achievements  as  firstly  it is mainly a game  of chance. Secondly the  29 , 20  cup has been  introduced by some  billionaire just  for  gambling   as they  bet  lot of money on cricket matches  Every  second year  such tournaments  are arranged  for gambling . Pakistan team has won match it is good news  however it is a great news  Nor it is  such  a great an  achievements  which should be  celebrated  at  Prime  Minister and President  house.

 

Besides expenditure of huge  amount it  has its  other  negative  impacts  too  One  is ,as  mentioned  earlier, upon  world  community  as it would  be confused   that  an important portion of Pakistan and  its  millions  people are facing a  crisis  while other part of Pakistan are making merry just  for  winning  a  cup in a  cricket  match . Secondly  if a team merely winning a match in a game  is  given  such  importance  and admiration  that highest level functions are  held in their  honor  it would   be having a   contrary   effects . Apart from others  its impact on young generation be  much  detrimental  As they  would  view  performance  in cricket  as the greatest   achievements and  a source  of pride , hero ship , superiority, honor and  reputation  so they  will  mainly  focus on games  instead of some  truly  useful and  practical  activities and achievements  like  in the  fields  of  knowledge  , science or  social and welfare works etc.

 
As for  Prime  Minister  and President sumptuous welcoming parties to the cricketer were as a whole  incongruous   Instead  If  both of them  have arranged a function  in PM /President houses  for  those IDPs  children’s  who  have lost  their houses and  family  members  in the  wake  of Swat  operation ( and are the greatest  heroes) it would  have been  more useful and of far reaching positive  impacts  and really  worthy of appreciation.

 Would  the  good  hearted Prime  minister arrange  such a function  in the  P M house  for few hundred  those  IDPs  children  in which he would  dine  with them  in the  open lawns  and also  play with them as  affectionate  elder ? .If such  function is  arranged by him  then it  be  more advantageous and of diverse   constructive  impacts  while  it will  also  enhance  the  reputation and status  of the good  hearted Prime Minster among the common people  of Pakistan.
