Pakistan beaten by Australia 4 6 in Junior Hockey Tourney
Sports Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008Pakistan`s poor performance in the Eight-nation Junior Hockey Tournament continued as they were defeated by Australia in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Pakistan team manager Jehangir Butt told media from Kuala Lumpur that Australia defeated the green shirts with a margin of 6-4.
The Australians outclassed the former champions in all aspects of the game as they took a lead of 4-0 in the first half.
Pakistan showed resistance in the second half scoring four goals but Australians were quick enough to add two more goals.
Inayatullah, Kashif, Taufiq and Zubair scored for Pakistan but this was not enough to save Pakistan from defeat.
Pakistan has so far played five matches in the tournament, winning one, levelling two and losing two.
The green shirts will play New Zealand tomorrow.
