Pakistan army soldier martyred in Indian army firing at LoC
Local, Pakistan Tuesday, January 19th, 2010A solider of Pakistan army embraced Shahadat while another sustained serious bullet injuries as a result of firing by Indian border security forces at Keeler sector near Rawlakot.
According to details released by ISPR, Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing across line of control on Pakistani side at 1:30 PM on Tuesday in Keeler sector, killing a Pakistani solider and injuring another.
After the incident, Pakistan launched protest with Indian border security forces and demanded immediate flag meeting. On the other hand, Indian border security forces from their Karamti check post opened unprovoked firing at Kado Post of Pakistan army in District Ponch, Krishna Ghati sector, at line of control on night between Monday and Tuesday, however, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
According to the military sources, during the firing which lasted round about one hour, the Indian border security forces used machine guns and rockets. The Pakistan army retaliated with full force and silent the guns of enemies. Later, the local commander contacted with his Indian counterpart at hotline and voiced strong protest over the incident, besides warning them to ensure implementation on ceasefire agreement because such type of incident would not be tolerated in future.
Meanwhile, a brigadier of 16 corps of Indian army alleged that Pakistani army from their Kado Checkpost opened firing at Karamti check post of Indian border security forces, according to Indian media. The Pakistan army has rejected the allegations and made it clear the firing was started by Indian forces.
