National Museum of Pakistan, (NMP) Karachi on Tuesday held an arts and crafts exhibition on ‘Kashmir’ in connection with Kashmir Day, which Pakistan has been observing since 1990 to show solidarity with Kashmiri brethren and to attract attention of the international community towards their plight at the hands of the occupying Indian forces.
The Punjab marked the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Tuesday as in other parts with a renewed pledge to support Kashmiris. The day began with prayers for the dead with a one-minute silence at 10 am. The province also saw demonstrations and rallies where speakers backed the Kashmir case and called for a peaceful solution.
The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Malaysia to mark the just struggle of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination and to remember countless sacrifices of those Kashmiris who laid down their lives in the struggle to attain their inalienable right to freedom.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the international community to help in resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir, and protect the region from devastation.
President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro have reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support for the settlement of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
