British PM David Cameron Comments exacerbated flood victim misery

Sometimes undiplomatic SNAFUS can have grave consequences. That’s what differentiates a statesman from a regular loudmouth. That is the reason that “plain talk” has to be done behind closed doors. Prime Minister David Cameron’s irresponsible and  horrid comments about Pakistan could not have had a more horrible timing. They came right before the worst disaster in Pakistan’s history–and a calamity that is more horrendous than the Haiti Earthquake, Kashmir Earthquake and the Tsumani all combined together. Mr. Cameron is responsible for the suffering of the flood victims.

  • Victims of Pakistan’s floods have suffered more because of David Cameron’s criticism of the country being soft on terror, its UN ambassador has claimed.
  • Abdullah Hussain Haroon said the Prime Minister’s comments had stopped people donating to relief efforts.

The British public has been reluctant to send money to the victims of the worst Himalayan flood of this century. Analysts all around the world are looking at the reasons for the apathy of the usualy generous UK public. The forums are full of Cameronish commentary blaming Paksitan for all sorts of real and imaginary evils.

Some of the most visceral criticism of Prime Minister David Cameron has come from Britain itself. Former Foreign Minister and possibly the future Prime Minister of Britain has ridiclued the Cameron stance–and called him “loudmouthed”. The British press and politicians were not appreciative of Mr. Cameron’s blathering.

The Daily Mirror is a case in point. Bob Roberts has called Cameron’s comments a huge blunder.

Victims of Pakistan’s floods have suffered more because of David Cameron’s criticism of the country being soft on terror, its UN ambassador has claimed.

Abdullah Hussain Haroon said the Prime Minister’s comments had stopped people donating to relief efforts.

Brits have given £9.5million for Pakistan but experts warn this is less than for disasters such as Haiti’s earthquake.

Mr Haroon said: “Pakistan has suffered because of what Mr Cameron has said, because the British people will listen to their PM.”

Mr Cameron caused outrage when he accused Pakistan of looking “both ways” on terrorism and was later forced into an embarrassing climbdown.

Meanwhile, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari finally saw the flood carnage for himself yesterday.

He was criticised for going on a state visit to Europe as more than a thousand people died and millions more were made homeless after the worst floods in 80 years.

Up to six million children are at risk of disease, agencies have warned. A third of the country has been hit.

The China mudslides death toll rose to 1,117 after storms brought more damage to Gansu province. Dialy Mirror

To make up for this blunder, Mr. David Cameron, if he had an iota of conscience in him–he would become part of a special task force for Pakistani flood relief and use gigantic names like Bill Clinton to solicit world conscience and get relief to the right people.
