Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister unveils education uplift plan in Pakistan

Attique Ahmed Khan here Thursday unveiled an integrated phased
education uplift program launched to promote quality education
harmonious to the requirements of the latest era in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony of all Azad Jammu Kashmir
girls minter collegiate tournament at the local girls degree college,
Attique said that his government has kicked off a comprehensive program
for the promotion
of modern and quality studies in the area aimed to raise the rate of literacy to maximum extent.
Chairman
AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Dr. Sagheer Kiyani,
Director Colleges AJK Dr. Saima Shah Jihan and the principal of the
college also addressed the ceremony.The Prime Minister said
introduction and promotion of education in line with the need of the
modern age was the foremost priority of his government.
“We
need the uplift of such an education system in the liberated area which
is not reflective of the mind and approach of slavery,” he said.
Sardar
Attique Ahmed Khan emphasized the need for establishment of centers of
science and technology besides the humanities groups in the education
institutions.
The
Prime Minister said that his government was taking all steps in this
direction to achieve the task. He said for this purpose, the government
has allocated an attractive portion of the annual budget of AJK for the
uplift of education sector in line with the ongoing comprehensive
program, he added.
The
Prime Minister announced to establish a new major sports stadium
besides new grounds in Mirpur city for the promotion of sport
activities in the area.
He
also announced launching of classes of post graduation besides
upgradation of the science and computer labs in Mirpur Government Girls
Degree college from the next financial year.
He
also announced donation of Rs. three million for the furniture and
library of the college besides giving away prize of Rs. 500,000 for the
sport activities of the AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary
Education.
