All is set to celebrate Independence Day with usual enthusiasm and zeal in Sialkot district on Friday (today). The preparations for celebrating Independence Day has gained the momentum in the city and Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of Sialkot district.
People belonging to various walks of life were busy in decorating their houses with colourful buntings and national flags while city shopping centres, commercial areas, bazaars and roads were also being decorated with national flags, colourful buntings and fancy lights while people had decorated their vehicles, rickshaw and pick-ups with national flags and portraits of Quaid-i-Azam, Allama Iqbal and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto as mark of Independence Day celebrations.
The sale of national flags, multi-colored garlands, big portraits of Quaid-i-Azam, Allama Iqbal and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto other national heroes was in full swing in the city. The daylong programmes would be started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country and for the early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the Sialkot.
On this occasion, special flag hoisting ceremony would be under auspices of Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (STMA) at Jinnah Hall. Meanwhile, several social, cultural and literary organisations had finalised their colourful programmes for celebrating the Independence Day in the district.
