9/11 could have been avoided says Pervez Musharraf
Headlines, Local Thursday, October 22nd, 2009Former president Pervez Musharraf has said that if United States had accepted
Taliban‘s government in Afghanistan, neither 9/11 could have happened nor terrorism increased.
Addressing to Pakistani community and talking to journalists here, the former president said that former US President Bill Clinton during his visit to Pakistan was asked to establish diplomatic ties with Taliban‘s government.
The former president said that the United States and Afghanistan had brought nearly 25,000 Mujahideen and Osama Bin Laden to Afghanistan for Jihad, saying Taliban have control over 90 percent area of Afghanistan.
Commenting on murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti, the former president said that his(Bugti) killing was the result of a military operation there, adding anyone who spoke or worked against country‘s interest should not be forgiven.
On Kerry-Lugar Bill, Pervez Musharraf opined that any bill, which was against country‘s interest, should not be accepted, saying the army has reservations over the bill while the people of the country also do not support it.
Talking on current energy crisis in the country, the former president said that Kala Bagh Dam is necessary to overcome energy crises of the country.
