8 Year old girl raped and killed
World Saturday, May 31st, 2008The body of an eight-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered in India, was found on Thursday in fields at a village in this district, police said.
The minor girl, a resident of Kudana village, went missing since Wednesday evening and her body was found on Thursday in the village field, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Anand said.
Woman raped on RIMS premises
A 20-year-old deaf and dumb woman, who went to get a disability certificate, was allegedly raped on Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) premises by a contractual attender on Thursday. The woman was reportedly enquiring about which doctor would issue a disability certificate, when an attender Vijay Babu, misguided her, took her to the top floor and allegedly raped her, according to police. The attender belonging to Tirupati came to RIMS recently on deputation. The Chinna Chowk police registered a case.
Sanjeev alias Sanju, 50, and his son Shahdev Singh, 24, allegedly raped Dina, a Class II student of a government school. The victim’s family members said that Dina was raped twice last week, first on May 21 and then on May 24, when her father, who works as a rickshaw puller, had gone out for work.
The accused and the victim’s family share the same roof and were close to each other.
Ganesh Shah, the victim’s father, while talking to MiD DAY said, “I received a call from my neighbours that Dina was suffering from high fever. I rushed home and took her to the local doctor who gave her medical prescriptions. After returning home, I was told by my neighbours that she was raped. I was shocked. Some people asked me to compromise but I straight away went to the police station and registered a complaint against the two.”
After the complaint was registered, the victim was taken to the Lal Bahadur hospital where doctors confirmed that she had been raped. The police arrested the father and son from E block of New Ashok Nagar. The police have also detained Dr Pramod Kumar who had given her medical prescriptions after she was raped.
At the time of the incident, the victim’s mother had gone to her native place in Bihar to attend a family wedding. The two accused and the victim’s father work as rickshaw pullers.
“We have arrested the two accused and have registered a rape case against them. We are also interrogating the doctor who administered her with injections after she was raped. The victim’s family has not blamed him but the victim herself had lied about her rape in his clinic,” a cop said.
Second incident
In the second incident, an 11-year-old minor was raped by her neighbour at Kakrola village in Dwarka. “Sohna (name changed) was raped by her neighbour on Saturday,” police said. The accused, Prem Maan, a labourer sneaked into Sohna’s house and dragged her to his house.
However, the girl managed to raise an alarm that woke up her parents who finding this beat up Prem Maan. He, however, managed to escape during the scuffle.
“We have arrested Prem Maan on Sunday. The girl’s medical examination confirmed that she was raped. We have registered a case against him,” police said.
